The national supranational law establishes the prohibition of refusing transport to people with disabilities or reduced mobility as long as the person concerned is in possession of a valid ticket and a reservation.
Only in two cases can the transport carrier or tour operator refuse to accept a booking for reasons of disability or reduced mobility:
- to comply with the safety obligations established by international standards;
- if the size of the aircraft or its doors makes it physically impossible to board or transport the person with disabilities or reduced mobility.
In the event of violations of the rights of people with disabilities or reduced mobility, it is possible to lodge a complaint complaining, for example, of denied or inadequate assistance or discriminatory refusal or compensation for damage suffered to those equipment that facilitate mobility such as chairs wheelchairs or other assistive devices.
